UK Jazz Talent to Be Represented at SXSW 2019
Nerija, Joe Armon Jones, Sarah Tandy, Yussef Dayes and Ezra Collective will be taking to the stage at one of the world's biggest festivals.
The British Jazz scene is undoubtably thriving, and now some of the best of the UK’s talent will be represented at the South by South West Festival 2019 with a special showcase supported by PRS For Music, The Association of Independent Music, Arts Council England and PPL for the first time.
The showcase will be the third curated by Arts Council funded Jazz re:freshed Outernational at the world renowned Texan festival, but the first to be supported by key UK music industry organisations. It will be staged this year in partnership with production company British Underground and the line-up includes some of the brightest new British jazz talent, with Nerija, Joe Armon Jones, Sarah Tandy, Yussef Dayes and Ezra Collective taking to the stage.
SXSW has become hugely important in breaking new music internationally and is attended by some of the most influential music industry professionals in the world. For up and coming UK musicians it can be a very rewarding event to attend but often very expensive. Thanks to the support from the PRS Foundation’s International Showcase Fund, four of the artists on the Jazz Re:Freshed Outernational Showcase will be able perform at the Festival and industry conference free from financial burden.
South By South West takes place in Austin Texas from the 11th to the 17th of March 2019, and the Jazz Re:Freshed Outernational Showcase be at The Main II on the Wednesday 13th of March.
