Keyboardist Bob James and bass player Nathan East, founding members of smooth jazz group Fourplay, are to debut a duet album called ‘The New Cool on Sept 18.

The two have worked together for decades and have extensive solo careers, Bob James with his first solo album over 50 years ago, but this is the first time they have come together like this. The release is via Yamaha Entertainment and was made exclusively using Yamaha kit. Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee ‘The New Cool’ showcases new material and one or two covers.

Fourplay fans can relax in the knowledge that East and James, drummer Harvey Mason and guitarist Chuck Loeb, will  release a new Fourplay album too later this year.
