Trombone Shorty signs to Blue Note Records

The New Orleans superstar has confirmed new material is coming this April

Trombone Shorty has signed with Blue Note records and makes his debut for the iconic label this April with the release of a new album. Real name Troy Andrews, the 31 year old is also set to play the prestigious closing set of this year’s New Orleans Jazz Fest in his home city. He’s an award winning performer, author and philanthropist – his foundation sets out to prepare young people for success in music and in life.

In recent months, Andrews' band Orleans Avenue have been touring the USA as the support act for The Red Hot Chili Peppers including three sold-out shows at both Madison Square Garden in New York City (February 15, 17, 18) and Staples Center in Los Angeles (March 7, 8, 10). They haven't performed in the UK for three years.
