Troy Andrews aka. Trombone Shorty has drafted in a last-minute London gig, to be held on Friday 26th May. The young New Orleans jazz heavyweight has just played the coveted headline slot at Jazz Fest in his home city and is currently preparing for a world tour.

He’s unexpectedly announced the one-off UK performance with his band ‘Orleans Avenue’ at the new Omeara venue, which has recently opened at London Bridge (owned by Ben Lovett from Mumford & Sons). He’s set to play classic material and songs from his new album ‘Parking Lot Symphony’ – his first release for four years and his debut on the iconic jazz label Blue Note.

Hailing from the Tremé neighborhood in New Orleans’ 6th Ward, Shorty got his nickname at four years old when he was marching in a street parade wielding a trombone twice as long as he was high. This prodigious musician has since gone on to forge a hugely successful career that has seen his virtuosity and high-energy live shows draw unanimous rave reviews worldwide, with Rolling Stone calling him a “must-see act.” He also uses his charitable foundation to assist hundreds young children and musicians in Louisiana.

Tickets go on sale HERE this Friday 12th May at 10am.
