Trinity Laban students go Inside Out

Music conservatoire Trinity Laban's ‘Inside Out Jazz Festival’ 2016 will celebrate young talent alongside international artists in a variety of South East London settings.

Music conservatoire Trinity Laban's summer ‘Inside Out Jazz Festival’ 2016 will present performances, masterclasses and workshops celebrating international artists and some of the UK's very best young jazz talents in a variety of settings, including London's famous Vortex Jazz Club from June 21st.

This year's programme:

  • Tues 21st June 8pm - Jazz at The Vortex: Award-winning flautist Gareth Lockrane and celebrated pianist Nikki Iles direct postgraduate students, and internationally acclaimed director Pete Churchill leads the Jazz Choir.
  • Weds 22nd June 3pm - Interview with Jim Mullen: Saxophonist Martin Speake interviews renowned Glaswegian guitarist Jim Mullen. about his long career at a free Q&A session in the Theatre Studio at King Charles Court, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Greenwich.
  • Weds 22nd June 8pm - Jim Mullen, Martin Speake and Andrea Vicari at Oliver’s: Martin Speake leads Jim Mullen, renowned pianist Andrea Vicari and Trinity Laban students in a performance of Indian, Arabic and Turkish inspired pieces from Martin's band Mafarowi at Oliver’s Jazz Bar, Greenwich.
  • Thurs 23rd June 8pm - Jazz at The Duke: Saxophonist Mick Foster directs the hugely entertaining Jazz Ensemble in the relaxed and fun setting of the Duke in Deptford.
