Stand aside Herbie Hancock, Oscar Peterson and Bill Evans!  You've got nothing on Kluet!

Who is Kluet? Why, he's a Sumatran orangutan who resides at Adelaide Zoo in Australia of course and has just released a heavily improvised jazz single called "Give Me A Klue" (well, it would be, wouldn't it!).

The song was released to raise awareness of World Orangutang Day and is available for purchase on Adelaide Zoo's website, where customers can pay what they like for their copy. The proceeds will go towardsenrichment, medical and husbandry items for the three orangutans that are at the zoo.

The drums and the keys were composed on an iPhone by Kluet, with the aid of his keeper (and producer) Pij Olijnyk.

"Orangutans are incredibly intelligent, so we are always looking for new ways to interact with them and make their day interesting, challenging and fun," Pij said.

"Kluet loves playing Garage Band on my phone, and it’s pretty clear he has some real musical talent," he added. "When I first heard the song, I knew he had created something pretty special."

World Orangutang Day is hoped to raise awareness of the plight of the Sumatran orangutan, with only an estimated 7,000 still left in the wild and fears that its numbers will decline by as many as 1,000 each year.

So, here's to Kluet and his clan. Maybe we'll see him packing out the Arena tent at next years Love Supreme.
