The Meters push the envelope
The Meters are to feature on an Official US Postal Envelope.
It has been announced that legendary NOLA funk band The Meters will feature on an Official US Postal Service Mail Envelope.
The 27th annual Jazz Fest Postal Cachet commemorative mailing envelope will include the 4 original band members, George Porter Jr, Zigaboo Modeliste, Leo Nocentelli and Art Neville. Neville has previously appeared twice on a Postal Cachet, once with The Neville Brothers and as a solo artist. A special unveiling ceremony took place in New Orleans last Thursday followed by a live show from the band.
Other artists who have also featured on the envelope include Dr John, Louis Armstrong and Allan Toussaint.
