Stevie Wonder receives America's top honour

Stevie Wonder was among the 18 recipients of America’s highest honours handed out at a ceremony at The White House by President Barack Obama. The President commented they’d, “made America stronger, wiser, more beautiful and more humane.”

Admitting that Stevie’s 1972 ‘Talking Book’ album was the first he bought with his own money, the President described him as a musical prodigy with an electrifying voice.

“For more than 50 years, Stevie has channeled his inner visions into messages of hope, healing and becoming one of the most influential musicians in American history," he said.

Stevie was given the Presidential Medal Of Freedom and a lasting hug.
