Pianist, composer, and founding member of Loose Tubes, Django Bates scores a new stage production of Jules Verne’s 'Around the World in 80 Days' at St James Theatre.
Pianist, composer, and founding member of Jazz FM award winning band Loose Tubes, A witty and audacious composer, Django Bates will score a new stage production of Jules Verne’s classic novel, 'Around the World in 80 Days.'
The show will run 26th November 2015 to 17th January 2016 at the St. James Theatre in London. In an adaptation by playwright Laura Eason, writer on hit US TV series House of Cards, 8 actors play over 100 characters in a high spirited and imaginative seasonal production aimed at families.
Bates has appeared alongside great jazz musicians including Bill Bruford, Dudu Pukwana, Wynton Marsalis, Michael Brecker and Ronnie Scott. Professor of jazz at the University of the Arts, Bern, Switzerland, he helped to re-form his much loved big band Loose Tubes with newly commissioned music and a triumphant Jazz FM Award-winning appearance at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival in 2014.
