The fifth Saint-Émilion Jazz Festival, set in the fine wine region of South West France, has unveiled its programme for 2016. It will take place across the weekend 22nd-24th July 2016.

Celebrated American jazz composer and bass player Marcus Miller will open at Parc Guadet, French jazz pianist Jean-Pierre Como will perform with British vocalist Hugh Coltman, Italian vocalist Walter Ricci, Italian saxophonist Stefano di Battista, French guitarist Louis Winsberg and more.

Senegalese singer Faada Freddy is set for a solo guitar performance to fill the iconic and intimate 14th Century Salle des Dominicains, an ancient convent, and bringing the three days to a close will be the lively Electro Deluxe. The prestigious Château Cheval Blanc will play host to French jazz trumpeter Stéphane Belmondo who will be performing his 'Love for Chet' project with his Trio alongside carefully selected vintages.

Saint-Émilion entertains over 10,000 annual jazz and wine lovers with its combination of free concerts and ticketed events.

“We are thrilled to be unveiling our programme for the 5th Saint-Émilion Jazz Festival this year. It is truly wonderful to see the thousands flock to the region to enjoy the perfect blend of Saint-Émilion Wines from our estate with some of the finest jazz musicians from the region and beyond,” says Dominique Renard, President of the Saint-Émilion Jazz Festival.

“Saint-Émilion is known around the world for its 1001 wines that illuminate the city, and for just a few days in July, they share the stage alongside outstanding musicians,” he continues. “For the occasion, the ephemeral wine bar will return and winegrowers will be offering a selection of 21 Saint-Émilion Jazz wine tasting sessions each day at the Parc Guadet, the very heart of our jazz weekender.”
