Ryan Quigley embarks on UK tour
Trumpeter Ryan Quigley launches his new album ’What Doesn’t Kill You’ at London’s Pizza Express Sept 5th with an all-star American band including pianist Geoffrey Keezer.
Irish-born, Glasgow-raised trumpeter Ryan Quigley is to launch his new album’What Doesn’t Kill You’ at London’s Pizza Express with an all-star American band including drummer Clarence Penn and bassist Michael Janisch who appear on the recording with the new addition of American pianist Geoff Keezer. British saxophonist Paul Booth also joins the band.
Ryan Quigley is a highly respected musician. He is a jazz trumpet tutor and one of the directors of the Big Band at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. His career has seen him play with prominent UK symphony orchestras and big bands, plus recording/touring projects with Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones, Tom Jones, Randy Brecker and many more plus toured with and wrote for Scottish outfit Brass Jaw.
The album is released Sept 9th on Whirlwind Recordings. The Pizza Express date begins an extensive UK and Ireland tour with the Quintet listed below.
