Ronnie Scott's Late Late Show All-star 56th birthday special - Thursday 29th October
Ronnie Scott’s celebrates the club's 56th Birthday, hosts London Jazz Festival late night jam sessions and a one-off special with Hiatus Kaiyote spin-off Swooping Duck.
In 1959, saxophonist Ronnie Scott opened the door to a small basement club in London’s West End where local musicians could jam. Today, it is one of the world’s most famous jazz clubs attracting packed houses and the biggest named performers.
The club is also home to one of London’s coolest late night hangs, the Late Late Show. Taking place after the main act, the Late Late Show is where big names in town often pop in. Wynton Marsalis, Stevie Wonder, Marcus Miller, Roy Hargrove and even Lady GaGa have all sat. It’s also hosted a number exclusive one-off shows including hip drummer Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave, Snarky Puppy, British sensation Jacob Collier and coming soon Hiatus Kouyate off-shoot Swooping Duck.
Thursday October 29 sees the Late Late show celebrate Ronnie’s 56th Birthday featuring the Ronnie Scott’s All-Stars and surprise guests dropping in.
During the EFG London Jazz Festival the Late Late Show becomes the official late night jam session promising star names making surprise appearances.
On Monday November 23 there’s a Late Late Show Special with Swooping Duck. Paul Bender, Simon Mavin and Perrin Moss from Australian band Hiatus Kaiyote will be playing 100% improvised music.
