Roller Trio look to crowd funding for second album

Award winning and Mercury Prize nominated band Roller Trio are turning to ‘crowd funding’ to help with the costs of releasing their second album ‘Fracture’.

The band came together whilst studying at Leeds College Of Music in 2011. They were immediately thrust into the spotlight with a Mercury Music Prize nomination in 2012 for the debut self titled release for F-IRE records. Having toured extensively in the UK and Europe, writing and performing new material, they have cited frustrations and delays as the reason to go independent with the release of ‘Fracture’ with both vinyl and CD. The band are looking to raise around £6000 towards the production of limited edition package bundles and personalised merchandise through crowd funding website Indiegogo. Pre-order is already available and, depending on contribution, bundles will include tee shirts, signed albums, unreleased live recordings and even personal home performances.

In a statement the band says, “We are really proud of Fracture. It has been the soundtrack to a struggle the music industry has put us through and we’re really happy we’ve got something good to show for it. Recording the album after extensively playing the material meant that the tunes were captured at their best – we knew them inside out. We’ve also explored new recording and mixing territory, which has been a massive learning experience. We know you’ve been waiting for this for a long time now and we think you’ll really enjoy it.”
