Quincy Jones and Michael Caine join forces

Two of our favourite octogenarians are holding a benefit for the NSPCC at the Albert Hall in London on 1st October. Legendary band leader, producer and musician Quincy Jones and actor Michael Caine famously share the same birthday. Actual birthday. They were both born on 14th March 1933 and have held joint celebration events in various parts of the world but arrangements for an 80th birthday event in London last year were sadly thwarted. 

Quincy Jones will appear as a special guest at 'A Night With Michael Caine'. TV presenter Jonathan Ross will interview Michael and there'll be music played from sound tracks of some of his films including the Quincy Jones scored 'Italian Job', 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' and 'Alfie' which was arranged and conducted by the great Oliver Nelson in 1966 and played by such great jazz luminaries as Phil Woods, Sonny Rollins, JJ Johnson and Kenny Burrell. The October date will include contributions from Joss Stone and Lance Ellington with the LSO.
