US President Barack Obama has given the World an insight to the music that inspires him whilst he serves, and he's a man of near impeccable taste.

Publishing his playlists on streaming service Spotify he reveals his ears are good with jazz legends Nina Simone, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis  and Billie Holiday. Mr Obama also has a taste for the smoother contemporary R&B of D’Angelo, Ledisi, Leon Bridges and Chrisette Michele whilst talking inspiration from the blues of Howlin’ Wolf, the lyricism of Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley and Coldplay plus occasional energy boost from pop stars Janelle Monae, Justin Timberlake.

Separating his lists into Day, Summer and Night we find night-times stretching out to John Coltrane’s take on ‘My Favorite Things,’ Miles’ ‘Flamenco Sketches,’ Lauryn Hill and D’Angelo, Joni Mitchell, Cassandra Wilson and Erykah Badu.
