Preservation Hall's Foo-Orleans rock stop

New Orleans’ Preservation Hall Jazz Band were joined on stage by top rock musicians including Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Jane’s Addiction front man Perry Farrell.

It was a party at New York City's McKittrick Hotel for 'Still Moving', the new photographic book by film director Danny Clinch. Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Clinch have history. He directed "Louisiana Fairytale," in 2011, a film about their collaboration with My Morning Jacket, an American rock band from Louisville, Kentucky. He also exhibited a collection of photographic shots of the band and its collaborators.

The Preservation Hall's singer and saxophonist Clint Maedgen has a background in rock with his late 90s band Liquidrone and this lent itself to the situation. Maegden considers Jane's Addiction a great influence, so was delighted when Farrell and Grohl joined him and the band onstage for a version of The Rolling Stones' 'Sympathy for the Devil'.

The Preservation Hall also recently hosted the Foo Fighters as they stopped off in NOLA whilst making their upcoming album "Sonic Highways,” due November 10th.
