A new statue of jazz saxophonist Sir John Dankworth has been unveiled at the entrance to The Stables in Milton Keynes, the venue he founded with his widow Dame Cleo Laine in 1970. It was commissioned by the Wavendon Allmusic Foundation and is the work of sculptor David Annand. The statue has Sir John pointing a finger as if to invite a soloist in his orchestra to play and also points towards the entrance.
