New honour for Terri Lyne Carrington
Drummer Terri Lyne Carrington was has been made an Honorary Member at the 42nd Annual Conference of the Society for American Music.
GRAMMY Award-winning drummer, writer, producer and vocalist Terri Lyne Carrington has been recognized as this year’s Honorary Member at the 42nd Annual Conference of the Society for American Music.
The announcement was made during a public ceremony at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Carrington is now a life-long member of the Society joining great names including saxophonist Pharoah Sanders, country singer Loretta Lynn, Canadian jazz piano legend Oscar Peterson and drummer Max Roach.
This honour recognises Carrington’s huge contribution to American music.
