On July 7 we reported that acclaimed LA based saxophonist Kamasi Washington will appear at this year's EFG London jazz Festival in a show also featuring Manchester trio GoGo Penguin and choreography by Lynne Page at the Barbican on November 13. Washington has received universal acclaim for his mammoth 3 CD debut as a leader, 'The Epic' for the label Brainfeeder, which contains 3 hours of material from countless musicians and vocalists reaching deep into spiritual jazz.
Ahead of his arrival for UK dates with his Septet, including Bristol's Lantern on November 14, here is a sample of a new documentary 'The Rhythm Changes', made film maker Brian Cross (B+) made around the launch of the album.
