Producers of last year’s posthumous release of legendary pianist Erroll Garner’s full ’Concert By The Sea’ sessions have now followed it up with ‘Ready Take One,’ a collection of recordings dated between 1967 and 1971 containing unearthed new versions of known Garner classics plus six previously unreleased originals..

The 1956 ’Concert By The Sea’ re-release included a number of previously unheard pieces and put Garner at the top of jazz album charts, years after his death in 1977.

Conga player José Mangual drums up a very danceable beat, worthy of any Gilles Peterson club session, on a tune called ‘Wild Music,’ there’s a new ballad called ‘Back to You,’ new versions of ‘Misty,’ and ‘(I’m) Confessin’ (That I Love You)’ plus a new arrangement on Duke Ellington and Juan Tizol’s standard ‘Caravan.’

‘Ready Take One’ is available for pre-order on CD and vinyl, released September 30th 2016. Listen to ‘Wild Music’ below:
