US trumpeter Terence Blanchard, piano trio Phronesis and bassist Arild Andersen have all been added to this year’s 10 day EFG London Jazz Festival in November. Blanchard is an acclaimed jazz bandleader and film score composer and will appear with his new band E Collective who’s potent, explosive blend of funk, fusion and r&b has been a sensation on Jazz FM. They play the Barbican November 20th.

November 21st sees Arild Andereen and his sextet play Kings Place in his own celebratory 70th birthday performance that pays tribute to jazz bass colossus Charles Mingus.

Anglo-Scandinavian power Phronesis return to the London Jazz Festival after their acclaimed live album recording at the Cockpit Theatre and take to the stage at Milton Court concert hall on November 22nd. This will be an enticing collaboration with Frankfurt Radio Big Band with saxophonist Julian Argüelles’ new arrangements of their music.

The Festival runs right across the Capital from November 13th - 22nd. See efglondonjazzfestival.com for more information.
