Miles remixed by Robert Glasper

Pianist Robert Glasper has revealed he is working on a Miles Davis remix album. Speaking exclusively to Jazzwise magazine he explained how Sony Music have given him access to archive Miles recordings enabling him to recreate them into new songs. These will showcase his playing on the Fender Rhodes keyboard. Special guests on the project include will include Erykah Badu, Australian band Hiatus Kaiyote and guitarist John Scofield.

Glasper has also been working on the soundtrack to actor Don Cheadle’s forthcoming biopic on Miles Davis adding to his recent co-production with Lauryn Hill of associate soundtrack to the new Nina Simone documentary 'What Happened Miss Simone?'

In August he returns to the UK for dates at Manchester Jazz Festival (RNCM Theatre August 8th), Brecon Jazz Festival (The Grolsch Market Hall August 9th) and London’s Ronnie Scott’s as part of their international piano trio festival (August 12th/13th/14th). Recently re-united with his acoustic trio featuring Vicente Archer on bass and Damion Reid on drums, the band that recorded his first Blue Note albums, he will be performing music from his new Blue Note album 'Covered'.
