Miles Away

A new biopic of Miles Davis is currently in production. 'Miles Away' (previously entitled 'Kill The Trumpet Player') stars Don Cheadle as Miles and co-stars British actor Ewan McGregor. Cheadle is the film maker and takes on the role as well as the film's director having part sourced it through the crowd funding route. He has a life long obsession with the music of Miles Davis since repeat listens to the classic recording 'Porgy and Bess' in his family household growing up.

The movie will focus on Miles' relationship with first wife Frances Taylor Davis and his return to music after the so called 'silent period', when he took a five year hiatus, coming back with the genre breaking jazz rock album 'In A Silent Way'.
