Michael Gove jazzes up a Cabinet meeting at No.10
The Government’s Chief Whip Michael Gove has himself been brought into line by David Cameron after his "Jazz FM style" ring tone interrupted Cabinet proceedings.
The Government’s Chief Whip Michael Gove has himself been brought into line by Prime Minister David Cameron after his mobile phone ringer interrupted Cabinet proceedings. According to reports in The Daily Mail and The Times newspapers Rather than follow protocol and leave it in a box outside the Cabinet office Mr Gove’s phone interrupted the Chancellor’s update on inflation.
His ringtone has been described by fellow Cabinet members as “Jazz FM style comedown music after a big night out” and “a female ballad”. We can but wonder. When asked about his ringtone, Mr Gove said it was an 'in-joke'.
Needless to say we’re delighted with the idea that Jazz FM is front of mind at the highest levels of Government, as well as the fun we’ve had all day on our Twitter account with suggestions of Gove-inspired tunes for a ring tone @jazzfm. How about:
George Benson - Never Gove Up On A Good Thing
Mel Tormé - Gove For Sale
The Staple Singers - Come Gove With Me
Earth, Wind & Fire - Got To Gove You Into My Life
Ella Fitzgerald - I’ve Gove You Under My Skin
George Benson - Gove Me The Night
Marvin Gaye - Got To Gove It Up
And of course, or anything by Gover Washington Jr!
