Marius Neset receives top music honour

30 year old Norwegian saxophonist Marius Neset has received the most important music award in his country, the 'Spellemannsprisen'.

30 year old Norwegian saxophonist Marius Neset has received the most important music award in his country, the 'Spellemannsprisen'. The award was for his album ‘Lion’ made with the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra last year. 

The award ceremony on January 17th was also broadcast live on Norwegian national television.

Spellemannsprisen winners are selected by a jury of professionals from various fields of the Norwegian music scene. Previous jazz winners include Tord Gustavsen, Bugge Wesseltoft, Jon Christensen and Solveig Slettahjell.

Neset’s next album ‘Pinball’ is released on January 30th.
