Mario Biondi is coming back to the UK for a February tour, including a special Valentine’s Day show at London’s Union Chapel. The Italian vocalist will also play two nights with his band at the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh, and one at Newcastle’s Hoochie Coochie Club.

Biondi’s love of soul music has helped shape his particular vocal styling – he says he takes his cue from great singers like Lou Rawls, Al Jarreau and Isaac Hayes. He first came to international prominence in 2006 with the release of his debut single ‘This Is What You Are’ on the Schema label. The same year's debut album ‘Handful of Soul’ went quadruple platinum and introduced his distinctive, deep voice to the world. His recent album ‘Sun’ was written and produced with Bluey and Incognito, and his collaboration with Chaka Khan has been a regular fixture on Jazz FM’s soul and jazz programmes.
