Mario Biondi announces new album and UK dates

The Italian singer says he’s been inspired by the music of Brazil for a new project

Italian singer Mario Biondi has confirmed his new album will be called ‘Brasil’ released on Sony music this September. He says the country has been an endless source of fascination for him with its vibrant music and rich culture. The music has been recorded in Rio De Janeiro produced by Latin-Grammy Winner Mario Caldato. The first track to be released will be a Bossa-Nova arrangement of Sade’s seminal Smooth Operator featuring Till Bronner on flugelhorn. Mario plays a sold out London gig this Thursday (5 July) but has a UK tour lined up in the autumn including:

24 October – Band on the Wall, Manchester
26/27 October – Hoochie Coochie, Newcastle 
28 October – Oran Mor, Glasgow
29 October – Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh
