Multi Grammy® Award winning bassist and producer Marcus Miller is joining Jazz FM to present TransAtlantic Jazz - Jazz FM's weekly celebration of what's happening in American jazz.

Marcus, who only last Saturday performed for President Barack Obama at the White House on International Jazz Day said, "I’m so excited to take over Transatlantic Jazz and I love the fact that I can now say that I’m a bass player by day and a Jazz FM DJ by night! Here in the US we have such an exciting jazz scene and I'm happy to share some of the hottest acts and coolest tunes with the Jazz FM audience."

As a musician, Marcus has produced and worked with trumpeters Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis, pianist Herbie Hancock, saxophonist Grover Washington Jnr and singer Luther Vandross, for whom he famously provided the unforgettable bass lick of 'Never Too Much”.  Personally, he has also had 22 albums of his own, scored over 20 films and won countless awards including multiple Grammy® Awards.

The programme will also be sponsored from the outset by ECP Cruises, whose The Jazz Cruise and The Contemporary Jazz Cruise that take place in January and February 2017 and both benefit from Marcus being the on board Musical Director.

TransAtlantic Jazz with Marcus Miller premiers on Wednesday 11th May, 18:00-19:00.
