The iconic voice of Macy Gray returns September 9th with a debut ablum for long-established Chesky Records called ‘Stripped.’ 

The first offering, now playing on Jazz FM, is a deep blues called ‘Annabelle’ featuring guitarist Russell Malone (Jimmy Smith, Harry Connick Jr, Diana Krall.) Veteran jazz trumpeter Wallace Roney and drummer Ari Hoenig also feature in the group. ‘Stripped’ features new original songs, covers, and surprising new takes of her classic hits like ‘I Try’ and even rock giants Metallica's 'Nothing Else Matters' 1930s-style.

Since beginning her music career in her early twenties Gray has moved into acting with roles on TV shows and movies, including Training Day with Denzel Washington, and Shadowboxer with Cuba Gooding Junior. the 2002 movie Spider-Man and television shows like Ally McBeal.

Macy Gray’s Chesky debut is part of their Binaural + Series, music recorded with a single microphone in a spacial, multi-dimensional setting.
