A late night jazz first at Love Supreme Festival
The festival is to debut new late night ‘Jazz in the Round’ sessions presented by Jazz FM's Jez Nelson and Chris Philips.
Two special ‘Jazz in the Round’ sessions will take place at this year’s Love Supreme Festival, in a dedicated stage space, and showcasing the best of the contemporary British Jazz Scene.
Jazz In The Round has existed for over five years at London’s Cockpit Theatre and bring their specially curated programme to Glynde Place, East Sussex for two nights, presented by Jazz FM’s Jez Nelson and Chris Philips.
The performances will run late-night on Friday 30th June, and Saturday 1st July once the main-stage acts have finished. Artists confirmed include Justin Thurgur with his Afro Jazztet, tuba player Theon Cross, acclaimed young fusion band Tri-Force, and the acclaimed pianist James Beckwith with his Trio. These will be punctuated by solo performances by vocal improvisor Randolph Matthews and experimental keyboardist Matthew Bourne plus vinyl only label Gearbox Records will present their own DJ Vinyl Sessions.
Love Supreme headliners this year include Robert Glasper, Gregory Porter, Herbie Hancock and George Benson.
