Love Supreme Festival 2016 adds more artists
Esperanza Spalding, Morcheeba, Erik Truffaz Quartet and rising U.S star Kandace Springs amongst second wave of acts confirmed.
This summer’s Love Supreme Jazz Festival has announced the addition of another eclectic array of internationally acclaimed artists to perform in the stunning setting in the South Downs.
Grammy-winning US bassist and singer Esperanza Spalding, British trip-hop outfit Morcheeba and multi-million-selling French trumpeter Erik Truffaz with his Quartet will be lining-up alongside the likes of Grace Jones, Burt Bacharach, Gilles Peterson, Lianne La Havas, Melody Gardot, Caro Emerald, Stanley Clarke, Kelis, exclusive super-trio Scofield / Mehldau / Guiliana and Kamasi Washington.
Also added are The Milk, Norwegian multi-instrumentalist Bernhoft, soul vocalist Avery Sunshine, Brooklyn-based instrumental three-piece Moon Hooch and the hotly-tipped pianist and singer Kandace Springs, whose new album will be released on Blue Note later on this year.
Esperanza Spalding said, “I’m thrilled to be returning to the UK to perform at Love Supreme. We played the very first edition in 2013 and it was an uplifting, enlightening experience so I look forward to bringing my new band with me to Sussex to play some music from our new album Emily’s D+ Evolution.”
The Friday night opening party will once again be Jazz FM’s Funky Sensation, with club nights taking place across the weekend.
