Loose Tubes to open fifth Herts Jazz Festival

Herts Jazz Festival returns September 18th in Welwyn Garden City kicking off with Jazz FM Award-winning British big band Loose Tubes.

The fifth Herts Jazz Festival begins on Friday September 18th across three days and kicks off on the Friday night with Jazz FM Award-winning British big band Loose Tubes. The band picked up the audience voted award in June for Best Live Performance for their appearance in Cheltenham in 2014.

Day two includes a Saturday morning performance from trombonist Dennis Rollins and his Velocity Trio, Alan Barnes Quintet and vocalist Claire Martin headlines with her Quartet. Sunday presents acclaimed saxophonist Julian Argüelles’ with his Tetra Quartet showcasing a new album released this October. 

Saxophonist Simon Spillett closes the festival leading the Big Band Britannia in tribute to legendary British jazz men Tubby Hayes and Stan Tracey. 

Several concerts are free and the festival is hosted at the Hawthorne Theatre in Welwyn Garden City. For more information visit hertsjazzfestival.co.uk
