A new jazz festival kicks off in London this weekend, held at the legendary 100 Club on Oxford Street. With support from Arts Council England, the venue will offer free youth workshops during the daytimes, led by NYJO, Engines Orchestra, Leeds College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music. Concerts in the evenings include appearances from Lianne Caroll, Brandon Allen and 17-year-old saxophonist Sam Barnett, plus late night jam sessions every night.

Judy Gordon - Artistic Director, Youth Jazz Artist Development Programmer said: "It's an absolute joy to be bringing the next generation of amazing jazz musicians to this prestigious music venue where jazz started in London. The 100 Club Jazz & Blues Week is such an exciting event for these young artists to take part in while sharing skills with older, experienced musicians in workshops and jams”.
