London Palladium to host 'Sinatra at 100' celebration

Nancy Sinatra, daughter of Frank, has been speaking about the family’s plans to celebrate his centenary this year.

Frank Sinatra first appeared in Britain at the London Palladium and Nancy has appealed to his British fans to come out to a multi-media show at the venue. ‘Sinatra at 100’ will star British actor Richard Shelton as Frank, someone who is already accomplished in the role after portraying him in 'Rat Pack Confidential’ and engagements around the world. Shows will run from March 20th to April 25th.

Nancy, who is known for her hit single ’These Boots Are Made For Walking’, said, “It is very important and going to be a big celebration. The Palladium was the first time he played any show outside of the United States and of course London was always one of his favourite cities.”

There will be original recordings, photographs from the archives and rare interviews for the show and a 24-piece orchestra with 20 dancers and singers.

“I’m very proud of my heritage and proud of my father’s work” Sinatra said.

Frank Sinatra sold over 150 million albums, winning 11 Grammy Awards. He first played the London Palladium in 1950, returning in 1975 for 10 shows which were supported by Sarah Vaughan and Count Basie.
