Blues legend BB King’s daughter Karen Williams has attempted, and failed, to obtain power of attorney over her father. In a courtroom in Las Vegas she attempted to gain guardianship and take her father’s affairs away from his manager, suggesting at least $1 million in his estate, estimated to be worth $5 million, remains unaccounted for.
A court judgement from Jon Norheim of Clark County Family Court states, “there is no evidence of need for guardianship. Mr. King has counsel. I don't have anything here that says he lacks capacity. He has some serious health issues. But he has counsel. If he feels like he's being taken advantage of, he has remedies."
We earlier reported that King, now 89, cancelled what remained of his 2014 tour after falling ill in Chicago. He has lived with diabetes for over 20 years. It has been announced on his official website that he has now entered hospice care.
