Kurt Elling revealed details of his next album due in early 2015 called ‘Passion World’. Speaking to Nigel Williams at Jazz FM he described it as, “a collection of compositions I’ve collected from around the world from all these tours.”

Elling has already given a preview to his fans who saw him at Cheltenham Jazz Festival this year when he dazzled with his multi-lingual ability, delivering songs in English, Polish, Spanish and French in a single set.

The album will see him working once again with the Netherlands’ Metropole Orkest and Germany’s WDR Big Band as well as duets with latin jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval and acclaimed accordionist Richard Galliano.

As reported here Kurt Elling’s time in London sees him taking part in a specially arranged Q&A, filming a brand new jazz TV show hosted by pianist Neil Cowley and singing at the EFG London Jazz Festival opener ‘Jazz Voice’ this Friday at the Barbican.  He’s also in town to work on a new music piece with British musician and arranger Guy Barker which will premier in 2015. “We needed time to be in the same city and sit down over some wine and figure out what we’re going to create together. It will be a dramatic project with a true story line and characters. Gotta keep movin’ man!” he said.

Elling recently celebrated his 47th birthday with a day off and party in Berlin.
