The Jazz Journalists Association has announced the winners of the 2020 JJA Jazz Awards

The Jazz Journalists of America have announced the winners of their annual JJA awards celebrating and honouring excellence in jazz music, recordings, presentation and journalism.

Among them, Terri Lyne Carrington wins Musician of the Year, Lakecia Benjamin has been named Up and Coming Artist of the Year, the Branford Marsalis Quartet wins Record of the Year, Kurt Elling Best Male Vocalist and Cécile McLorin Salvant Best Female Vocalist. Carla Bley has been honoured for her Lifetime Achievement in Jazz.
