It’s been nearly four years since Jill Scott’s last album ‘The Light of the Sun.’ Her fifth album is near to release and to whet the appetite she has released a video of the first offering, a cover version of Carl Hall's 1967 song ‘You Don’t Know Nothing About Love’.

She shot it at the iconic Studio D in Nashville, Tennessee and it’s an emotional slice of authentic sounding Southern soul with brass section. The song is a desperate ballad re-interpreted from the perspective of a woman who has loved and lost more than her fair share.

The band features Adam Blackstone on bass, who has worked with pop stars Nicki Minaj and Justin Timberlake, and The Roots’ drummer Questlove. Watch the video below.
