Wayne Shorter, Sons of Kemet and Kurt Elling are among the critics’ top selections of 2018

Jazzwise Magazine have published their annual albums of the year critics poll. Two legendary saxophonists have bagged the top spots this year: Wayne Shorter with his orchestral creative art piece called 'Emanon', and Charles Lloyd alongside his band The Marvels and vocalist Lucinda Williams for their Americana infused 'Vanished Gardens' LP. Other highlights include two albums from pianist Brad Mehldau, the Mercury prize nominated British 4-piece Sons of Kemet, Kurt Elling’s 'The Questions' and Jazz FM’s international jazz artist of the year Cecile Mclorin Salvant.
