Jazz fans are the "Happiest" music fans, a new study has found.

The study was conducted by the website OnBuy.com, analysing over 2 million comments on Reddit over 27 music genres, finding that jazz fans were saying positive things online.

Delving into each comment, the study analysed the number of positive words and swear words to identify which music fans are the "happiest" and which are the most "aggressive" when it comes to their word choices.

Through this process, the study showed that jazz fans were top of the list with 77 positive mentions per 100 comments, followed by metal and opera fans. On the opposite end of the spectrum, it found that drum and bass, grime and finally drill fans were the least positive.

Of the 23,884 comments posted by the jazz community on Reddit, members used an impressive 18,439 positive words, with the words "great", "good" and "best" prooving to be the most popular positive words.

The analysis also found that punk fans were that most likely to swear, with 32 swear words being using per 100 comments.

The emotiveness of jazz is believed to be a major stress reliever, further boosting memory, focus and mood whilst lowering your heart rate. It is also believed that jazz and metal fans help foster a close sense of community.
