Jazz FM Announces Star-Studded Christmas Line-Up

Music and musicians take centre stage this holiday season

This Christmas, music and musicians take centre stage on Jazz FM, with a packed schedule of special programmes for the holiday season.

Highlights include…

Helen Mayhew’s Christmas Eve – relaxing music to set the mood for the weekend, the perfect soundtrack for wrapping presents from 6pm.

Christmas Day with Curtis Stigers – four hours of festive favourites from 10am, hosted by the acclaimed singer and saxophonist.

Christmas Day Requests – with Jamie Crick from 5pm. Listeners and celebrities choose the tunes.

Boxing Day Dinner Jazz with Kurt Elling – the Grammy award winning star will select some gorgeous music to unwind with on Monday night from 7pm.

Jazz Shapers Live – with Elliot Moss on Christmas Eve from 9am. His guest is the extraordinary designer Kelly Hoppen MBE (formerly of Dragon’s Den) and there’s live music from pianist Bill Laurance. It’s the first edition to be recorded in front of a live audience.

New Year’s Eve Funky Sensation – Commercial-free jazz-funk, soul and disco from 6pm with John Osborne, Chris Philips, Jeff Young and a two hour set from American superstar diva Jocelyn Brown up to Big Ben at midnight.

New Year’s Day with Allan Harris – the formidable baritone voice will ease us into the New Year with some superb jazz, including a live session. 

Documentaries and Music Specials – including Joe Stilgoe’s Jazz On Film, Ollie Howell’s celebration of Quincy Jones, and Emily Dankworth who spends an hour choosing records with her grandmother Dame Cleo Liane.
