Jazz at Sea Festival host gets a flying start
The Queen Mary 2 will take part in Cunard’s Three Queens on the Mersey event on Bank Holiday Monday with a fly past from the Red Arrows.
The host of the very first Jazz At Sea Festival, Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, will take part in Cunard’s Three Queens on the Mersey event on Bank Holiday Monday.
In October the Queen Mary 2, together with the iconic jazz music label Blue Note Records, will journey from Southampton to New York. A full jazz itinerary on-board throughout the 7 day voyage which features Blue Note’s 75th Anniversary all-star band Our Point Of View which includes Robert Glasper, Lionel Loueke, Marcus Strickland, Kendrick Scott, Keyon Harrold and Derrick Hodge. There will also be regular intimate jazz performances, jamming and improvisation sessions and Q&A Sessions with Blue Note Records Presidents and Grammy award winning producer Don Was.
Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria will be performing synchronised manoeuvres on the river Mersey for the very first time and as an added bonus there’s a flypast by the Red Arrows at 1.50pm. The world famous aerobatic team will follow the Mersey in from the sea, flying in formation over the three ships to create an extraordinary spectacle on the river.
