A flurry of Twitter and Instagram activity yesterday announced the surprise lunch-time appearance of Jamie Cullum and his band at The British Library in London. The multiple level atrium was packed with fans watching.

Jamie performed four songs as part of the annual Radio Festival organised by The Radio Academy. He was there to celebrate the groundbreaking Jazz FM and BBC Music radio collaboration on a pop-up digital jazz radio for the EFG London Jazz Festival in November.

Also at the Festival Spotify’s Will Page delivered the very first Richard Wheatly Lecture, named in honour of Jazz FM’s late Chairman, talking about innovation and collaboration between radio stations and curated streaming platforms.
