JALC creates record label

The Jazz at Lincoln Center - the world famous jazz school - has announced it is to launch it's own record label called 'Blue Engine Records'.

The Jazz at Lincoln Center - the world famous jazz school - has announced it is to launch it's own record label called 'Blue Engine Records'.  

JALCO described Blue Engine Records as "a new platform to make it's vast archive of recorded concerts available to jazz audiences everywhere".  The label will release new studio and live recordings as well as archival recordings from it's vast performance history dating back almost 30 years.

It's premier release will be on 21st August from JALCO with chief Wynton Marsalis' 'Live In Cuba'.  The album was recorded over three nights at Havana's Mella Theater in 2010.
