Jack DeJohnette blows in from the Windy City

Veteran drummer Jack DeJohnette is to release a new album, 'Made In Chicago', on March 10th 2015.

Veteran drummer Jack DeJohnette is to release a new album for ECM Records on March 10th called ‘Made in Chicago.’ All the featured musicians, like DeJohnette were born in Chicago. It will feature pianist Muhal Richard Abrams, Art Ensemble Of Chicago saxophonist Roscoe Mitchell, saxophonist and flautist Henry Threadgill and Chicago based Larry Gray on bass.

Jack DeJohnette is a highly influential fusion drummer who played with many greats including Keith Jarrett, Freddie Hubbard and Miles Davis, including Miles’ legendary live Fillmore sessions and ground breaking album ‘Bitches Brew’ where he was one of two drummers with Lenny White.

He recently appeared as part of the Spring Quartet with Esperanza Spalding, Joe Lovano and Leo Genevese. The band sold out London’s Barbican without, as yet, releasing a record.
