Herbie Hancock to live stream performance

Herbie Hancock has confirmed that his International Jazz Day concert on April 30th will become a free global live stream this year.

The ninth annual celebration was scheduled to take place in Cape Town, but will now be broadcast with performers at home and contributions from fans across the world in the form of video messages.

In a statement, Herbie said they are “armed with optimism, patience and grace, ready to work through these challenges as families, communities, countries and as a stronger united world”.

Herbie will be also be joined by other renowned performers such as Kurt Elling (who recently performed as part of our own Virtual Jazz Festival), Ledisi and Lizz Wright.
