Herb Alpert re-issues 25 albums

A number of classic albums by trumpeter Herb Alpert are to be re-issued on September 9th 2016, spanning his long career.

A number of classic albums by trumpeter Herb Alpert are to be re-issued on September 9th 2016, spanning his long career.

In all, 25 titles are to be re-released on CD, some of which have not been available for many years. These include ‘South of the Border,’ ‘Going Places!,’ ‘Main Event Live (with Hugh Masekela),’ the jazz funk classic ‘Rise,’ and ’North on South St.’

Four albums will also be remastered and released on vinyl using a specially designed lathe. These are ‘South of the Border,’ ‘What Now My Love,’ ‘Going Places’ and ‘Rise.’

Alpert has sold over 75 million albums globally and received 9 Grammy awards. He also co-founded A&M Records in 1962.
