American jazz guitar legend Al Di Meola has announced a new album entitled ‘Across The Universe - The Beatles Vol.2’: a sophomore studio recording in tribute to The Beatles.

The album follows on from his 2013 studio recording, 'All Your Life: A Tribute to the Beatles'. His latest album adds to his vast recording collection, having released more than 30 solo albums, as well as his acclaimed collaborations with music legends including Chick Corea, John McLaughlin and Stanley Clarke.

The Grammy-winning star says he was inspired by the fab four from an early age, and here he has the opportunity to share favourite songs with what he says is “complex rhythmic syncopation combined with provocative lyrical melodies and intricate harmonies” - including Here ‘Comes the Sun’, ‘Hey Jude’ and ‘Yesterday’.

The first single ‘Strawberry Fields’ is out this week with the rest of the album to follow on March 13th.
