Jazz FM is offering political coverage with a music mandate this election night. As soon as the polls close, Jamie Crick will be on the air with the second “Jazz FM Election Swing-A-Thon”.

It’s “Too Close For Comfort”, sings Ella Fitzgerald as millions of Brits get ready to stay up until “The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning”, this Thursday 8th June.

Fuelled with Café Pod™ Coffee, Jamie plans to keep the energy going all night when it’s needed most. From 10pm to 6am, he’ll follow the action from the General Election with up-to-the-minute news, working together with a coalition of swing, jazz and blues music.

After its hugely successful debut in 2015, the production team are surprised and delighted to be back so soon with their smart, funny and entertaining alternative in the early hours, including musical guests and political commentators in the studio. Jamie’s music selections will reflect and react to the news as it happens, and listeners up and down the country will be able to interact with the show on social media, whilst Jazz FM keeps them up-to-date with the latest calls from the polling stations around the UK.

#Swingathon will be the official hashtag of the event.

Jamie Crick said, “I’m looking forward to a strong and stable radio show, as we broadcast to the many, not the few. Once the votes are cast, I’ll have to start the show with Count Basie – after all, ‘It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing’!”
