When one time Herbie Hancock bass player Paul Jackson spoke to Jazz FM’s Chris Philips recently he credited his mother for his love of music and in particular for taking him to the legendary Black Hawk jazz club in San Francisco as a child. Here he first saw his hero Paul Chambers play alongside John Coltrane. But hang on a second, rewind, did he say Black Hawk jazz club .. as a child? How so? Well it turns out the club used to have ‘Kiddies Corner’ where, at a reasonable hour, kids would delight in hotdogs and soda whilst the life affirming tones of great jazz players seeped into their developing collective consciousness.

Now in London Groove Baby with Bring Your Own Baby present a collective of musicians called Human Beamings in a series of concerts for grown-ups that babies and toddlers can also groove to featuring the best of jazz, electro and Asian music.

Taking place at the Southbank Centre on Friday June 12th and St Mary’s Walthamstow on Saturday June 13th, both at 10.30am. These cherished arts venues will be geared up for families in a relaxed and friendly environment ready for singing, dancing, crying and playing along.

Human Beamings include Mercury Prize-nominated bandleader and drummer Seb Rochford (Polar Bear), beatboxer and vocal sculptor Jason Singh, and British-Indian vocalist Ranjana Ghatak. The trio will conjure music sahped from Indian classical music, jazz, and the sounds of the street.

During July and August The Groove Baby Organ Trio returns with a sizzling summer set. Parents and babies can groove hard to a sound that brings back the funky 60s and 70s.
